KairosWWT | Women Working Together

Response to COVID19 Pandemic

The last few weeks have bought monumental challenges and changes that we are all trying to comprehend.  We have limited our external communication regarding the COVID19 Pandemic, as we have been concentrating our efforts on adjusting to the rapidly changing context we are working within. Clearly, the women we support are vulnerable and need us now more than ever. However, we also need to protect the health and well-being off our staff and volunteers. Consequently, we have made a number of essential changes to how we will be delivering our services over the coming weeks and months. We will not be providing face to face support, that includes group work or 1-2-1 support. We will continue to support our women remotely. We will continue to provide a weekly evening outreach. It is our absolute priority to continue this frontline service for as long as possible and we have made a number of changes to ensure that happens.

At the minute, it is unclear how long this will continue and like other Charities this will be extremely challenging period for Kairos to navigate. We are truly grateful and thankful to our many volunteers and supporters who regularly provide vital support by donating clothes and food, donating their time to support our groups and activities and by making financial contributions. We simply couldn’t support our women without you.   We are also thankful for the responsiveness of grant making trusts who have offered their support and flexibility, which is gratefully received. However, the next year will be a crucial time for us and the women we support.  If you have supported us in the past, or previously thought about supporting us, please consider supporting us during this difficult time. Every donation makes a massive difference. You can donate here.

Finally, to the women we support, I want to reassure you that we are still here for you and we will continue to support you as best we can through the challenging weeks ahead. The support you receive will be different, you will have less meetings with your support worker and more contact by phone where possible. But what will absolutely not change is our commitment and determination to be walking your journey with you, whatever challenges you face. So even though you won’t see us as often, please know that we are still working tirelessly behind the scenes for you.
